KARIMLAN RP

Our Commitment to a Healthy Roleplaying Experience

We strive to foster a positive and inclusive roleplaying environment for all. We will not tolerate any attempts to exploit loopholes or circumvent the server rules for personal gain.

Staff Authority and Player Conduct

  • Rule Enforcement: Staff have the sole authority to enforce server rules.

  • Accountability: Players who attempt to undermine the rules or engage in disruptive behavior may face consequences, including removal from the server.

  • Toxic Behavior: Staff will use discretion to address and mitigate toxic or harmful behavior, prioritizing the well-being of the community.

  • Respect and Courtesy: Respect for other players, roleplay integrity, and the spirit of the game are paramount. Actions that negatively impact the enjoyment of others, even if not explicitly prohibited by the rules, may be considered unacceptable.

Reporting Violations

  • Use the Ticketing System: Report any rule violations through the designated ticketing system.

  • Avoid Self-Enforcement: Do not attempt to enforce rules yourself. Public accusations and "witch hunts" are strictly prohibited.

  • Maintain Roleplay: Continue to engage in roleplay to the best of your ability during any reported incidents.

Remember: Playing on this server is a privilege, and continued participation depends on adherence to these principles and respect for the community.

Respectful Communication and Roleplay

  • Humanity: Remember that real people exist behind every character. Be mindful of the impact of your words, both in-character and out-of-character (OOC). Avoid hurtful or abusive language towards any player, regardless of their role or standing within the community. Treat everyone with respect and equality.

  • In-Character vs. Out-of-Character: Keep in-character actions within the roleplay environment. Avoid "bleeding" in-character emotions or conflicts onto OOC platforms like forums or Discord. You are not your character OOC. Maintain respectful and polite communication with all community members, even when disagreements arise.

  • Roleplay Integrity: Maintain consistent roleplay at all times. Do not disrupt, stall, or void roleplay through OOC means unless explicitly instructed by an administrator (which is highly unusual). Retaliatory rule-breaking is unacceptable.

Respectful Interactions & Inclusive Environment

  • Gender Equality: This community fosters respectful interactions between all characters, regardless of gender. Harassment, unwelcome advances, or any actions that create discomfort based on a character's gender are strictly prohibited. Romantic storylines are encouraged, but they must be consensual and respectful of all parties involved. Forced narratives or undue pressure are absolutely forbidden.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: While aiming for a historically accurate 1900 setting, this community prioritizes a safe and inclusive environment for all players. Misogyny, stereotyping, and discrimination based on gender, race, sexuality, or any other personal characteristic will not be tolerated. While historical accuracy may include outdated or offensive views, we strive to create a gameplay experience free from these harmful elements.

Fair Play & Asset Integrity

Modifications:

  • Prohibited Modifications:

    • Use of any software, mods, or macros that provide an unfair advantage or enable harmful actions is strictly forbidden.

    • Cheats, overlays, or third-party tools that provide extra server information, aim assistance (including crosshairs), or alter gameplay mechanics are not permitted.

    • Modifying game files is discouraged.

    • While cosmetic customizations (skins, texture packs) are generally allowed, players use them at their own risk. The server cannot guarantee compatibility or assist with any issues arising from such customizations.

Asset Transferring:

  • Prohibited Transfers:

    • Transferring assets (items, currency, etc.) between players is strictly prohibited. This includes actions like giving away assets upon character deletion, leaving the server, or engaging in real-world trading.

  • Character Deletion & Asset Distribution:

    • Players wishing to delete their characters and distribute assets must create an in-character "last will and testament" outlining their desired distribution.

    • The will must be submitted to and approved by the staff team.

    • The staff team reserves the right to deny any will that is suspected of facilitating unfair asset transfer, disrupting the server's economy, or being excessively generous in a way that is inconsistent with the server's roleplay standards.

Account Integrity & Security

  • Punishment Avoidance:

    • Attempting to circumvent or evade any imposed punishment is strictly prohibited.

    • Creating new accounts or using alternative methods to access services while blocked will result in more severe penalties, potentially including permanent account restrictions.

  • Account Ownership & Security:

    • Account sharing or transfer is strictly forbidden, even with staff members.

    • You are solely responsible for all activity on your account.

    • Protect your account credentials diligently and never allow others to use your account.

    • Logging into another player's account is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in the freezing of both accounts.

Historical Accuracy & Respectful Gameplay

  • Period Authenticity:

    • Our roleplay is set in the early 1900s.

    • Characters should reflect this era accurately in their fashion, language, and behavior.

    • Knowledge of the historical context is essential for creating believable characters.

  • Sensitive Topics:

    • The game period includes sensitive issues like slavery, racism, and sexism.

    • While these topics can be addressed within the context of roleplay, offensive, inflammatory, or bigoted portrayals are strictly prohibited.

    • Respectful and considerate discussions are crucial when dealing with these sensitive issues.

    • Inappropriate behavior may result in immediate removal from the server.

  • Historical Realism:

    • Avoid referencing future events, technologies, or modern culture.

    • Immerse yourself completely in the game's timeline.

  • Language & Tone:

    • Use language appropriate to the early 1900s.

    • Avoid contemporary slang or expressions.

Prioritizing Storytelling & Roleplay

Karimlan RP prioritizes immersive storytelling and meaningful interactions over immediate violence.

  • Conflict Resolution:

    • When disputes arise with other players or factions, prioritize roleplay-based solutions over immediate conflict.

    • Engage in meaningful dialogue and explore alternative resolutions before resorting to violence.

    • If violence becomes necessary, ensure it is justified by the roleplay and supported by in-character motivations.

  • Meaningful Interactions:

    • Focus on creating engaging narratives through meaningful interactions with other players.

    • Aim for depth in your character's relationships and storylines.

  • Exceptions:

    • In rare cases, minor rule infractions may be overlooked if they serve to advance a compelling storyline and both parties involved agree.

Remember: Our primary objective is to foster a rich and engaging roleplay experience for all players.

Powergaming: Understanding Prohibited Actions

Powergaming encompasses a range of behaviors that disrupt the flow of roleplay and create unfair advantages. These include:

Character Restrictions:

  • Family Members: Players cannot create characters that are directly related to their previous characters.

Enhanced PVP and Roleplay

  • Scene Integrity: Prioritize the flow and integrity of the roleplay scene over personal gain or reckless behavior.

Transformation & Skill Rules for Shapeshifters

Consent Roleplay First

  • All combat or power usage must be roleplayed fairly, giving opponents a chance to respond. No forced emotes like “/me kills instantly.”

Fear Roleplay Applies

  • Humans must roleplay fear realistically when witnessing transformations, unless their character is lore-immune (like veilguards).

Exposed Identity Risk

  • Transforming in public areas risks exposure. If witnesses see you transform, they can report or spread rumors in character. Eventhough based on the lore, it is openly accepted that creatures are present, players should immerse themselves in every faction’s storyline.
